All About The Tree Club

The Tree Club was founded in 2005 by parents of children attending Pinewood Special  School in Blackburn, West Lothian. Funding was received from Big Lottery to cover costs for the first three years.  The club was originally based in Pinewood school, but as we grew we moved to larger facilities within Blackburn Community Centre. We moved to St Kentigern’s Academy in July 2011.  Now in 2015, The Tree Club are currently seeking bigger premises, offering better space which can be shared with a variety of different agencies who could benefit from working together to meet the needs of the children and young people who use our services.

The Tree Club provides stimulating and creative activities for school age children and young people with additional needs during out of school hours and holiday schemes throughout the school holidays  We provide safe, high quality childcare in accordance with national care guidelines, with respect to levels of staffing and safety of premises.

We provide fully integrated facilities for children with additional needs, offering innovative and creative solutions for play, plus practical and effective support on site to the child if required.

The Tree Club provides high standards of employment for childcare workers in terms of salary, conditions of employment and training opportunities.

The facility is open to children and to parents in West Lothian whose children have special educational needs.

The Tree Club provides high standards of management supervision, offering excellent opportunities for those wishing to volunteer as part of their training or as a step towards paid employment.
